Our Cause
The project aims to identify victims of forced displacement, specifically children and their families in need of international protection. These people have experienced violations of their rights due to situations of violence, forced recruitment or other circumstances that have forced them to leave their country of origin.
We advocate for their rights at the national level and specific actions in the departments of Francisco Morazán, Cortés, Choluteca, El Paraíso, Ocotepeque and Copán.
Our objective is to directly and indirectly benefit children, adolescents, young people and their families at risk of displacement or recruitment and identify people in need of international protection in mixed movements through the Mobile Information System - SIM (mobile units located at strategic points where people in mobility transit) border and aimed at facilitating access to information to the population in transit, about their rights, asylum, refuge and international protection.
This project is implemented in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees - UNHCR and we work in coordination with DINAF, SDH and other local organizations.
32,629 people served directly through the SIMs during the first six months of 2023.
