The Fundación de la Agroindustria Azucarera de Honduras FUNAZUCAR and World Vision Honduras, signed today a cooperation agreement with the objective of working together, promoting projects that contribute to the development of communities in the sugar areas of the country, in order to generate positive actions for the benefit of the communities involved that promote the quality of life of the people.

Mr. Robert Vinelli, president of FUNAZUCAR, expressed his gratitude for the trust and collaboration that World Vision Honduras establishes by signing this agreement, which also represents the social commitment that we as the sugar sector constantly provide in our communities, through projects focused on community development, education, health, nutrition, and environment, which our foundation executes.

On the other hand, Engineer Karen Ramos, Program Director of World Vision Honduras, expressed the importance of this type of partnership, which allows us to maximize the impact of our actions, benefiting more communities, as well as her gratitude for this new alliance, which will undoubtedly strengthen the actions implemented as an organization for the benefit of the most vulnerable.

One of the first projects to be implemented under the agreement is a process of vocational technical, business and human development training in the municipality of Marcovia, Choluteca, which aims to train young people to have the opportunity to start their own business and prepare them for decent employment.

The agreement between FUNAZUCAR and World Vision Honduras will last for two years, during which time they expect to reach and benefit the communities of influence of Compañía Azucarera Hondureña (CAHSA), Azucarera La Grecia, Compañía Azucarera Tres Valles, Compañía Azucarera Chumbagua, Azucarera Choluteca and Azucarera Yojoa.

These alliances represent the commitment of the private sector and organizations such as World Vision Honduras, contributing to the transformative development of the most vulnerable communities in our country.

FUNAZUCAR is a private non-profit organization with high commitment and social responsibility, which for 17 years has contributed to the development of the communities of influence of the sugar sector, serving more than 300,000 people annually through programs and projects that are framed in its four areas of action: education, health and nutrition, community development and environment.

World Vision Honduras is an international Christian non-governmental development organization, established since 1974, which supports the most vulnerable local communities in the country, with activities and projects in the areas of violence prevention, employability and life skills, food security, adaptation to climate change, among other actions, which every day favor the growth of Honduran communities.
